Hybrid Object

Image
[Hyrbrid Object] This project was rather interesting to me as combining my objects with my partner's (Fatema Al-Zubadee) became something different than the original objects. I think our final concept came out pretty good. Admittedly we haven't managed to print it yet due to time constraints and our object not working with Slicer currently... Anyways here are my object concepts. [My Partners Objects] [1st Final Object] [Final Object 2nd Try] Unfortunately, my partner and I couldn't get our object to work in Slicer. That was because we couldn't make our objects into a closed surface. So, in the end, we decided to make a different object that works in Slicer. Though due to time constraints we weren't able to make the object as symmetrical as we wanted...

Milestone Projects!!

[Milestone Projects] [Objectified Response] Honestly, the funny thing when I was working on this assignment is that I was already making the tower prior to watching the documentary and afterwards I had to somehow link this to the movie... So I kinda had to make up the connection to the documentary... Anyways I decided to call this object Super Awesome Tower! (not really...) [Mesh Mashup] If there wasn't a crit session for this project I probably would've chosen the skyscrapers on the cube. It just surprised me how the snail with the TVs was popular... I have decided to call this object Tele-Tele Snail. Original Tinkercad Model Render from Rhino [Papercraft] This was probably one of the most fun projects from this course. I really liked having actual physical objects that I designed from Rhino and I also think the concept I came up with was pretty fun. Around the time of this project, I was playing a lot of Tetris so that just gave me the idea. I initially thought it was going...

Mesh Mashup: Selection and Refinement

Image
[ Tinkercad to Meshmixer ] This honestly took way longer than I thought it would... But anyways first, here is the comparison of the object from Tinkercad and Meshmixer. Tinkercad Meshmixer (The colours didn't end up the way I wanted them to...) [ Response to Feedback ]      I was actually pretty surprised by the response I got with this object. I thought it was my weakest work as honestly I kinda just threw this one together... The response I got was surprisingly positive as the people I talked to all thought this object was interesting and unique. They also said that I could improve this object more if I blended the TV's and TV Stand into the snail more. So that is exactly what I did when I improved this object in Meshmixer. What I did was make the TV stand a part of the snail by merging it into the snail's shell. I made little ledges on the side of the snail's shell for the TVs.  [ Object's Juxtaposition ]     This object is roughly based on a creature f...

Mashup: Concept Generation

I honestly had a lot of fun working on this assignment, it was pretty enjoyable to find objects and mesh them together in interesting ways...  However, I think the hardest part was finding the objects from Thingiverse, as often there were only parts and never full objects and sometimes the files wouldn't load into Tinkercad... But it all worked out in the end and I am kinda happy with how my objects turned out. Object #1: Space Shuttle launch from Question Mark Block I wanted to create a scenario of a space shuttle being launched from somewhere different and that is why I chose the question mark block as it is something that you would never be able to see in real life... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2517867 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2187088/files https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3799992 Object #2 Empire State Buildings Surrounding a Cube This is inspired by the film Inception . In that movie, there is a scene where a city get's folded at a 90 degrees angle and so ...

Super Awesome Tower (not really...)

Image
I have had some experience in 3D modelling before (only from Google Sketch-up) and well I gotta say that using different software did have a bit of a learning curve but I was able to overcome it and was able to create a tower that I am somewhat proud of. I decided to make this tower from around 35 minutes in the documentary where it showed a city with a blimp flying in the background. I saw 2 blocky-looking buildings and that kinda inspired me to make this tower. All in all, making the tower was time-consuming but I had a lot of fun making this, and I am looking forward to the other things that I'll potentially make in this class.
